nanoGauge Steam Lomotive Quick Review

nanoGauge is the new series of nanoblock based train sets from Kawada. If you love nanoblock and trains, then you'll love these. 

Today, we take a look at the nanoGauge Steam Locomotive (nGT_006). I got it from here at discount, if you're interested. There are many different train designs available in the nanoGauge series, but this is my personal favourite.

The interesting thing about nanoGauge trains is that they come with a bunch of new types of bricks that you rarely, if ever, see anywhere else. These special bricks allows you to build things with a smooth top. Below are photos of the completed train.

It was quite easy to build, nothing particularly challenging. The end result looks great, as you have seen above. While these nanoGauge trains are designed to be used with the full kit that comes with the motorised units, rails, etc, they can also be built and displayed by itself, like in the photos above. If you like trains, I say go for it! =)

Just Got My nanoGauge Basic Full Kit

Just my luck, the nanoGauge Basic Full Kit I ordered from Japan (this shop) just arrived, but it got stuck in customs, so I had to spend almost two hours to go collect it, clear customs and bring it back home ... Anyway, here's the set ... Yes, I couldn't wait to get home to open it and snap a pic to show you guys ... Hahahaa ...

Cool! Kawada just released a video of the upcoming nanoGauge motorized nanoblock train sets =) ... I can't wait for it to be released! ... and just so you guys know, I will have these in stock when it's launched here in Malaysia ^^

The Tobu 100 series, branded Spacia, is a limited express electric multiple unit (EMU) train type operated by the Tobu Railway in Japan since 1990. The trains are used on Kegon and Kinu services to Nikkō and Kinugawa-Onsen. More info is available on Wikipedia and on Tobu's website.

This is the fifth limited edition nanoblock set released by the Nanoblock Store at the Tokyo Skytree. It comes with 320+ bricks and an instruction sheet.

In terms of special bricks, there is nothing really extra ordinary but it does have some clear bricks.

Even though this is a Level 3 set, building it was quite straight forward. Here are some photos of the build process.

I like this set very much as it is my first nanoblock train set and I love the colour purple. You can see the fully completed Spacia train below.
